While it looks like Timo Werner is picking up at Chelsea under coach, Thomas Tuchel, it looks like his best is not yet enough.

Despite defeating Man City in the Premier League on Saturday, former Arsenal star and football pundit, Ian Wright believes Werner still has a lot of work to do.

Chelsea defeated the Citizens at their home stadium with a 2-1 scoreline thanks to efforts from Hakim Ziyech and Marcos Alonso as Raheem Sterling’s first-half goal was not enough to save Man City.

Reacting to the Blues game, Wright said he was impressed with their performance against Man City but felt Werner was often lazy with his positioning and running in behind during the encounter.

“I think Timo Werner is having a good season,” Wright said on BBC’s Match of the Day.

He noted that Werner came to Chelsea with that pressure of scoring goals but so far he has been missing chances.

Wright added that the German player doesn’t focus on positioning.

”He’s got so much space. For me, that is just lazy, it is lazy work. He is running straight offside. Once he sorts that out, he’ll get more chances, then he will need to be more clinical,” he added.
