Chelsea’s manager has expressed excitement over Conor Gallagher’s inclusion in the England national team for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar set to start in a few days time.

While Reece James and Ben Chilwell missed chances to play in the World Cup, Gallagher was selected along with Mason Mount and Raheem Sterling.

Potter in a statement described Gallagher as a fantastic player who works hard and he believes it is a great chance for him to feature in the World Cup.

‘It’s fantastic for us, great for him,’ Potter said in a statement via Chelsea website.

‘He’s going to have a really positive experience and I’m delighted for him, he’s worked really hard. He’s a fantastic person.

‘It’s a nice story. He’s been out on loan, he’s come through the club, and to get a chance to play in a World Cup is great news.”

It is unknown if Gallagher will start when Chelsea take on Newcastle United this weekend.
