Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan made headlines after he broke down in tears on Thursday evening after his home country Belgium crashed out of the World Cup in Qatar.

Belgium were kicked out of the tournament after a goalless draw with Croatia as Morocco proceeded to win Canada by a 2-1 scoreline.

While Morocco finished at the top of Group F, Croatia came second, leading to Roberto Martinez’s side’s early exit.

The game between Croatia and Belgium saw Lukaku come on in the second half as the World’s number two national team tried to get an equaliser.

It was an unfortunate moment for Lukaka as he missed three big chances to give Belgium the lead and as the full-time whistle went, was consoled by Belgium assistant and former France international Thierry Henry as he left the pitch in tears.

Lukaku has since come under massive criticism.
