Why Ronaldo left Juventus for Old Trafford

The return of Cristiano Ronaldo to Man Utd has sparked different criticisms, especially from Juventus fans who believe the presence of the Portuguese star at Turin for three was unable to help them win the Uefa Champions League trophy.

However, legendrated Juventus goalkeeper, Gianluigi Buffon, has reacted to the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo from the Italian Seria A league.

Buffon, who played alongside the Portuguese star in Juve said Ronaldo wanted a new challenge.

He added that the top rated striker “rightly thinks about himself a lot”, and he believes  that he understands why the football star made a return to Manchester United.

Buffon in a statement with Radio anch’io Sport said: “I don’t think the fans should be surprised. He has the reputation of a great professional who rightly thinks about himself a lot.”

He noted that during the three years Ronaldo was at Turin, he contributed with great performances and scored many goals.

“Juve are in a transition period, I don’t know if it’s generational or the skeleton. You pay a bit when these things happen,” Buffon added.

Ronald has made a return to Man Utd and the Red Devils are hoping he helps them win the EPL.
