Former Chelsea star, Joe Cole in a recent statement expressed doubts about the club’s ability to attract a top-class striker this summer.

This comes after Chelsea suffered a 2-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie on Wednesday.

They were unable to score during the match due to their inability to utilise the chances they created during the game.

Kai Havertz their top scorer this season has only been able to score seven goals and they have now failed to score in their last four matches in all competitions.

Chelsea have been linked with moves for a new centre forward this summer with Napoli star Victor Osimhen topping their list of options.

But with the look of things, Chelsea will not be playing in Europe next season if they don’t win the Champions League this season as their chances of finishing in the top on the EPL table is out of it.

“We’re not talking about who Chelsea gets. Who wants to go to Chelsea if they’re playing in the Europa Conference League? We have to be honest,” Cole told BT Sport.
