Why Man Utd’s swap deal for Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson may not happen

Manchester United have been named as one of the clubs interested in signing Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea this summer transfer window.
To facilitate the deal the Red Devils have considered a swap proposal with Chelsea involving Alejandro Garnacho and Jackson, who could depart Stamford Bridge following the arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro.
While the Blues are said to be among the admirers of Garnacho, they, however, are not willing to pay more than £30m for the Argentina star.
Also, the West London club would want more than double to approve Jackson’s departure, meaning a straight swap would be out of the equation.
If the Red Devils could secure a sale for Garnacho, it would be a pure profit under PSR’s rules due to the player’s status as an academy graduate.
However, the Red Devils appear to be finding it difficult to offload Garnacho in a deal that would suit all parties.
This means Jackson will have to focus on offers from other clubs to leave Chelsea.
Meanwhile, Man Utd have also been linked with moves for Aston Villa’s forward Ollie Watkins as they also consider swapping him with Garnacho.
