There have been calls for the English Premier League to cancel final football matches owing to growing injury concerns among English football players.

Chelsea player Ben Chilwell has joined the list of players who could miss the world cup scheduled to take place this weekend.

Chilwell sustained an injury during the Blues’ UCL clash vs Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday.

O’Hara in a statement called on the football body to cancel matches in order to create breathing space for the players.

“You’ve lost Reece James, you’ve lost Ben Chilwell, but for England it’s a serious problem. Players are dropping like flies,” O’Hara told talkSPORT.

“Cancel the last round of games in the Premier League, give them a bit of breathing space.

“The Premier League should do it, or the players should get involved,” O’Hara said.

O’Hara also blasted the Premier League for always focusing more on the gains and caring just little about the players’ welfare and protection.
