Despite being linked with a host of top players in the transfer window, Chelsea failed to sign anyone and fans will be wondering why it was done such way.

Chelsea have never been shy in spending fortunes during the transfer window and it was no surprise when they were linked with a big money move for Erling Haaland.

RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano was on top of Chelsea’s wish list as the Blues were eager to compete on all front against the best teams in Europe.

David Alaba was another player that was linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as the form of Thiago Silva has forced the club into thinking of investing on experience players.

However, as the clock ticks to 11pm on another winter transfer window, Chelsea failed to add any player to their team.

Chelsea will enter the second half of the campaign with the same squad that they exited the summer window with.

Reasons why the blues failed to sign any players was because Frank Lampard was the one identifying the players needed to bring his team back to shape.

The English trainer will identity his player and bring them in as Roman Abramovich, Marina Granovskaia and Petr Cech will make the move towards signing.

However, his sack meant Thomas Tuchel had little time to identify his favourite player.

He will be sticking with the same team that Frank Lampard left and he tends to turn the fortunes of the club around.
