Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has suggested Armando Broja could finally get a chance in his squad this season.

This comes as the Blues striker Christopher Nkunku is currently on the sideline after sustaining an injury in pre-season.

Pochettino hinted Chelsea may not have to look outside of the current squad for potential replacements.

‘We are working of course, seeing all the options that we can manage on the market. I think all the clubs are doing the same as us. But I think at the same time we are keeping one or two eyes on Armando Broja because we cannot forget him and we cannot stop him by bringing in some profile of player that can stop him.

‘We really believe in him, we know him very well and he can be an important striker for Chelsea and we need to be careful. We are a bit disappointed with the situation of Christoph because he should be a very important player for us, helping Nico Jackson to score goals. But that is football and we need to accept that situation.

‘At the same time we cannot go for some player that maybe after is not a player that we have. Maybe we need to be patient and try to adapt our squad to try to get positive results, waiting for Armando to be fully fit.’
