Former Tottenham midfielder, Jamie Redknapp has slammed Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang over his current form at the club.

According to Redknapp, Aubameyang failed as an Arsenal player and cannot succeed at Chelsea, adding that he is not the answer to the Blues’ scoring struggles.

Recall that Chelsea were held to a draw by Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday after taking the lead thanks to a goal from Raheem Sterling.

Forest, however, scored an equaliser thanks to a goal from Serge Aurier’s volley.

The result was the Blues moving seven points adrift of the top four.

The game against Forest saw Aubameyang miss a great chance to score late on and Redknapp is convinced the 33-year-old is long past his best.

Slamming the Gabon international, Redknapp said: “He wasn’t the answer at Arsenal so he’s not going to be the answer now at Chelsea.

“He’s getting older now. He’s not the player that he was. They’re trying to get [Christopher] Nkunku, that’s the player they’re after, whether they are going to get him I’m not sure.”
