Why Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw by Fulham

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has reacted to his side’s 2-2 draw vs Fulham this weekend.

The North London side appeared to be on their way to winning all three points after goals from Bukayo Saka and Eddie Nketiah cancelled out Andreas Pereira’s early strike.

However, Palhinha would come to Fulham’s rescue with a late equalizer for the hosts, who had gone down to 10 men after Calvin Bassey’s red card.

Arteta blamed the draw on the loss of concentration.

He told Sky: “With all the effort that we made, the situations we generated, chance after chance, the attitude of the boys, the way the subs came on – then you go 2-1 up, with 10 men, the game is done.

“You give a ball away, you give a corner, you have to defend that box with your life if you want wins in the Premier League and we didn’t do that well enough.”
