English club are reportedly ready to compete with Italian side AC Milan for the signature of Chelsea forward, Olivier Giroud in the summer transfer window.

Giroud who joined the Blues from Arsenal will see his contract at Stamford Bridge come to an end at the end of this month.

With the look of things so far at Chelsea, they don’t plan on giving him a new contract which means he will be a free agent in the summer.

He has been linked to the Italian Seria A but reports have claimed the Hammers are keen on keeping him in the Premier League.

However, Calciomercato claimed that West Ham are still hopeful of keeping Giroud in the English capital, with the France international yet to put pen to paper on a deal with Milan.

The report further claimed that David Moyes is keen to bolster his ranks with European experience before their Europa League campaign next term, but MLS side New York City FC are also monitoring the situation.

Giroud scored 11 goals in 31 appearances for Chelsea last season, with six of the goals coming in the Blues’ successful run to the Champions League victory vs. Man City a few days ago.
