West Ham United have completed the signing of Italy international Emerson Palmieri from Chelsea.

Emerson, who has signed a four years deal with the Hammers joins the list of defenders that have now left Chelsea this summer including Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.

The reports revealed that West Ham paid a fee in the region of £13 million ($15.36 million) for Emerson, who was part of the Italy team that won the European Championship last year.

The 28-year-old, who joined Chelsea from Italian club AS Roma in 2018, was unable to break into the Blues first team as a regular at Stamford Bridge and spent last season on loan at French club Lyon.

During his stay at Stamford Bridge, Emerson made 71 appearances in all competitions for the Blues.

The report revealed the Italian has undergone his medicals and could start for West Ham in their next match.

“Contracts signed between Chelsea and West Ham for Emerson Palmieri. Deal completed, official statement expected later today (Tuesday) as medical has been done too.
