Update on Chilwell’s injury

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has dropped an update on Ben Chilwell’s injury ahead of their next game vs Newcastle United.

Pochettino confirmed Chilwell is battling a knee injury but said he would wait to get more details from the club specialist.

“We need to wait until he sees the specialist. I cannot go in advance. I hope it’s not a big issue but after eight or nine months here at the club, I prefer to wait,” he said.

Speaking more on injuries in the Blues squad, Pochettino said via football.london:

“Sometimes bad luck or good luck, I don’t like to talk in this way because it looks like if you work or don’t work well, then you must have good or bad luck. Too many things happen to why we have today the problems in the squad, it’s about more deep analysis. It’s not only bad luck. Also it is something we need to think, we need to improve or to restructure, to pay attention but in all the areas, it is not to blame some area. It is the responsibility of the whole club.”
