Chelsea are hoping to make some new addition to their squad in the coming January transfer window.

Despite spending heavily in the last summer transfer window to bring in some new players, Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is set to spend more during winter to hand out new manager Graham Potter a chance to sign players in his first transfer window with the Blues.

The west London side are said to be ‘working’ on a deal to sign RB Leipzig striker Josko Gvardiol following his brilliant World Cup form with Croatia, this is according to popular transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian transfer reporter claimed Boehly is are ‘working’ on this deal in the background as well as finding a player who can come in for the injured Broja.

He said: “Chelsea are actively looking to find a new striker for January. They are exploring the market and there are many names on the table. No contacts for Cristiano Ronaldo at the moment.

“Chelsea are still working on the Josko Gvardiol deal.”
