A recent report has claimed Chelsea have identified two players they could sign soon as talks for a contract extension with their player Mason Mount stall.

The report via The Telegraph revealed the two players as Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini and Villarreal’s Yeremy Pino, who are now both on Chelsea’s radar ahead of the January transfer window.

Chelsea are hoping to extend Mount’s contract as it expires in June 2024.

Also, the west London side are looking to strengthen their midfield following their not-so-good form this season.

As of now, Chelsea are seated in the eighth position on the log with eight points behind fourth-placed Tottenham going into the World Cup break.

However, the report revealed the negotiations for a new contract for Mount has been stalled as both sides are far from reaching an agreement.

Chelsea are said to be on the lookout for new players to strengthen manager Graham Potter’s midfield options and both Pellegrini and Pino are on their shortlist.

Pellegrini, who has been in top form for Roma this season has also been linked with moves to Newcastle United ahead of the January window.

Pino, on the other hand, has struggled for consistency in La Liga this season with one goal to his name and he is yet to create an assist in 13 matches.
