Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel in a latest statement, has cleared the air concerning the future of Hakim Ziyech at Stamford Bridge.

Contrary to the reports, Tuchel stressed that Ziyech is a key part of his squad at Stamford Bridge.

Ziyech, 28, has not had it easy this season as he has only made a total of 31 starts and 18 substitute appearances in all competitions since moving to Chelsea in 2020.

For the past few weeks, some reports had claimed that Chelsea were ready to allow Ziyech to leave the club on loan in the January transfer window, with Barcelona and Bayern Munich reportedly interested.

Tuchel has suggested that the Morocco international would not be departing West London at the beginning of 2022.

However, Tuchel, in a statement quoted by The Independent, has cleared the air as he said: “There are no thoughts about a potential change, swap deal or whatever in the winter. I have talked to nobody about that here in Cobham.

“Hakim was not in my office expressing a wish like this so right now, he is a full member of the squad.

“He is an important guy, a very talented guy, a very ambitious guy, and he’s a full part of our squad. He was last season, he is this season and we expect the very best of him all the time.”
