Chelsea returned to action on Saturday following the International break as they faced Aston Villa in the Premier League.

Although the Blues won the game with a 3-0 scoreline thanks to a brace from Romelu Lukaku and Matteo Kovacic.

The Blues manager and Germany international, Thomas Tuchel, in an after match statement, has, however, admitted their new signing, Saul Niguez, made mistakes.

Tuchel made use of on-loan Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul from the start of the game; he was, however, taken off during the break with the Blues leading 1-0.aa

“I had the feeling that he struggled. There were some big mistakes, passing mistakes, and he struggled with the intensity. You could see he isn’t fully adapted,” Tuchel told SkySports.

Tuchel stated that it’s ultimately his responsibility as he had the feeling Saul could jump in for the Blues and play at that level.

He added that later in the match, he thought it was better to change him; Tuchel, however, stated that it doesn’t change anything about how he sees the Atletico Midfielder.
