Transfer Deal: West Ham star reportedly keen on joining Chelsea during January transfer window

West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice is still interested in a move to Stamford Bridge in January, this is according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Declan Rice has caught the eyes of top teams in England with his good performance for West Ham and Chelsea have been rumoured to be eyeing him as their number one target.

With the summer transfer window opening in the next few days, Romano while speaking on the Here We Go Podcast, detailed the issues that can come into play for Rice to make the switch.

Romano noted that Rice is still pushing to join Chelsea. But it is up to the Blues to negotiate a fee with West Ham which will be very hard in January.

The talented defensive midfielder played in the Chelsea Academy alongside Mason Mount but was released at 14. Declan Rice has over 100 Premier League appearances and captain of his side, he has shown his quality.

Rice can play centre-back or midfield and have never been shy in labelling N’Golo Kante as one of the players he watches and adore as a midfielder.

The England International has also carried his good form into the new season as he’s been instrumental in West Ham success.
