Chelsea are close to losing Josko Gvardiol to European Champions, Manchester City who are set to offer him a mouth-watering deal.

The report at Etihad claimed Pep Guardiola is a strong admirer of the young defender and this has made Man City push for advanced talks with German club RB Leipzig over a huge £86m transfer for the defender.

Should this transfer happen, it would make it a world-record transfer for a defender.

The reports from RB Leipzig revealed that the Croatia star wants to join Man City this summer.

The club’s sporting director, Max Eberl told German outlet LVZ: “I can confirm that Josko Gvardiol and agents told us about their desire to move to Manchester City.

“We are in talks with Manchester. That’s all there is to say at the moment.”

A report via Telegraph revealed Man City are close to sealing the deal for the 21-year-old defender.

Guardiola, a centre-back, has the ability to also play at left-back.

He has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Tottenham, but Man City seems to be his destination.
