Chelsea may soon suffer a transfer blow this summer as recent report claimed their London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are determined to sign Jonathan David from Ligue 1 club LOSC Lille amid his links to Stamford Bridge.

A report via Football Insider revealed the Hotspurs have commenced discussion with parties involved to sign David from Lille in the summer transfer window.

The Canadian striker was previously on the Blues’ radar as they are in need of a attacker who can score goals and create competition for Nicolas Jackson.

David was impressive for Lille last season, scoring 26 goals for the French side last season.

As of now, David is widely rated as one of the best young attackers in Europe.

With his record, the 24-year-old has been tipped to be successful in the Premier League as well.

Should he move to Tottenham, the striker would be a key player for the North London club.

Since Harry Kane’s exit, Tottenham have not been able to find a worthy replacement.

They have had to rely Son Heung-min, however, with David in their squad, will be a boost.

The striker’ valuation is said to be around £20 million and the North London side are now close to securing his signature.

Aside from Tottenham and Chelsea, David has been linked with moves to West Ham.
