Reports from Spain suggest that Xabi Alonso is willing to sanction Rodrygo’s departure from Real Madrid, with Arsenal among the clubs to have submitted a formal offer for the Brazilian forward.

The development comes as the Gunners continue to strengthen their squad in pursuit of a long-awaited Premier League title.

Arsenal invested more than £250 million during the summer transfer window, adding eight new players to give Mikel Arteta the depth and quality needed to compete on multiple fronts. That investment has already begun to pay off. With strong competition for places across the pitch, Arsenal currently sit at the top of the Premier League table, four points ahead of Manchester City and a further four clear of Liverpool, last season’s champions, who find themselves down in eighth.

Determined to maintain their momentum, the Arsenal board is exploring additional reinforcements ahead of the next transfer window. Securing the club’s first Premier League title since Arsène Wenger’s famed 2003–04 “Invincibles” season remains the primary objective, and bolstering the attacking line has become a key focus.

Spanish outlets claim Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has accepted that Rodrygo could leave if the right offer arrives. Arsenal have reportedly indicated they are prepared to pay around £35 million for the versatile winger as part of a broader £105 million double swoop. The Gunners see Rodrygo as a player who can add further creativity, pace, and goal threat to a squad already performing at an elite level.

While no agreement has been officially confirmed, the growing speculation highlights Arsenal’s ambition and readiness to act decisively in the market if it means strengthening their title challenge.
