Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel is ready to follow the footsteps of Frank Lampard in giving youths more chances in the first team.

Frank Lampard might have been dismissed as Chelsea manager following a poor run of form but the English trainer has been able to lay a mark in the team.

The former Chelsea midfielder was able to give some youth players their debut and they’ve grown to become an important player in the blues team.

Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount, Recce James and Fikayo Tomori are the biggest names that Frank Lampard gave chance to explore and Tuchel is ready to continue the trend.

Thomas Tuchel while speaking to the club website stressed the importance he feels to continue to provide a path to the first team from the club’s Academy.

According to the former Paris Saint-Germain manager it is important for him to retain an Academy identity in his squad and praises the technical and physical attributes the young players possess.

He noted that the team rely on them and trust them so they will be given every chance to make their steps to the first team.
