This defender is the only Chelsea player that made it to the UEFA team of the group stage

European football body, UEFA, in a statement on Tuesday, released the names of players that made it to its team of the recently concluded group stage of the ongoing tournament.

The list showed Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen is the only Blues player that made it to the list.

Others who made it to the team include Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe.

It was surprising to see, however, that UEFA excluded the likes of Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo and Paris Saint-Germain’s Lionel Messi from the Champions League team of the group stage.

This comes after UEFA announced the Champions League round of 16 draws on Monday following the conclusion of the group stage fixtures.

UEFA dropped the Champions League team of the group stage in a post via its website.
