As the new season continue this weekend in the Premier League after a short international break, football fans will shift focus back to Cristiano Ronaldo with many expecting to watch him perform.

However, football pundit, Stan Collymore in a statement has predicted Chelsea’s striker and Belgium international, Romelu Lukaku to be more important than Ronaldo this season.

Recall that Lukaku and Ronaldo returned to the Premier League this summer after their stints in the Italian Seria, playing for Inter Milan and Juventus, respectively.

While Lukaku cost Chelsea £97million-plus, Ronaldo return to Old Trafford was less than £20m.

Collymore, in his post in the UK Mirror column, said: “If Chelsea were to lose Lukaku for 10 games it would massively impact on any title tilt, even their bid for a top-four finish.”

He however, added that the same was not in the case of Man Utd who had other players like Edinson Cavani, Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood and Bruno Fernandes to go to for goals if Ronaldo is unable to deliver.

Also at 36, it is not certain that Ronaldo will be available for every match.
