Chelsea have undergone different changes over the years as they have been coached by the likes of Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte, Maurizio Sarri, Frank Lampard and now Thomas Tuchel, each coach came with their different pattern and styles to which players have to work with.

However, in a recent statement, Chelsea defender, Antonio Rudiger revealed the tactical difference between Lampard and new coach Tuchel.

Lampard  who was at Stamford Bridge for 18 months was shown the exit door after the Blues dropped to the ninth spot on the Premier League table. However, since the arrival of Tuchel, they have been regaining their form and would hope to continue when they face Newcastle in their next game.

Chelsea are currently seated at the fifth spot on the league table.

However, Rudiger believes former PSG coach knows what he wants from Chelsea players and says he differs from Lampard in how he wants the club to win the ball back.

“Because of the results, it’s been good [under Tuchel so far],” Rudiger told Sky Sports.

He added that the players are already adapting to Tuchel’s style of game.

The Blues defender also said the defence improved the most this season and it all started with Lampard, and now the new coach has a different idea, which is to keep the opponents up in their half and try to win the ball back there rather than winning it further down in the Blues half.
