The only way Lukaku could return to Inter Milan

Chelsea striker and Belgium international Romelu Lukaku has always fancied a return to Italian club Inter Milan since leaving the club for the Blues last summer.

This comes as the Belgian striker has struggled to replicate the impressive form he was known for at San Siro at Chelsea.

A report via Italian outlet Corriere Della Sera claims Inter Milan could bring Lukaku back ahead of the 2022-23 season but only on a loan deal.

The report added that the move could not be ‘discarded’ as Lukaku doesn’t want to stay on at Stamford Bridge.

The issue that can affect the transfer is that Inter cannot afford to sign Lukaku on a permanent deal.

This means Chelsea must be willing to offer him on loan before the Italian side can complete a transfer for him.

Lukaku earns £12.5 million annually at Chelsea, an amount Inter will not be able to perform.

The Belgian striker made a club-record £97.5 million switch from Inter Milan last summer as he made a second return to Chelsea.

Upon returning to the EPL side, Lukaku has struggled to impress and has lost his regular game time this season.
