Chelsea hopes of selling Marcos Alonso this summer have been given a huge boost as Barcelona are on the verge of selling Junior Firpo in order to secure his service.

Marcos Alonso has been having a season to forget under Frank Lampard this season as the Spanish defender has not been able to walk his way into the team.

The Spaniard had failed to secure a place in the team ever since he was substituted in the club’s draw against West Brom earlier in the season and has become the third choice defender.

Having been linked with numerous clubs in Italy, England and Spain, Barcelona are willing to let go of Junior Firpo so Marcos Alonso can make the move.

Just like Alonso, Firpo has not been able to claim Barcelona’s first team and has been linked with a move to AC Milan.

According to a new report by SportMediaset via MilanNews, Barcelona and Junior Firpo have reached an agreement that will see the young defender move to Italy.

The reports noted that Ronald Koeman and his coaching staff are will to let go of Firpo as soon as possible so Marcos Alonso can move in from Chelsea.

Marcos Alonso will not have a problem settling down at Barcelona as the right-back has once played for Real Madrid before he moved to England.
