Chelsea are one of the clubs who have joined the race for Southampton midfielder Roméo Lavia, CBS reporter Ben Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT.

La La, 19-year-old, has been linked to a a number of EPL clubs, as Jacobs believes he’s likely to leave the Saints if they’re relegated this season.

This could make him the Blues’ first signing under Mauricio Pochettino, who has been tipped to take charge of the club next season.

However, Chelsea will face competition for Lavia’s signature as Football Insider claimed that Arsenal and Manchester United are also interested in the Southampton star, who’s expected to cost around £45m.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Jacobs said: “If Southampton go down, then Lavia will almost certainly go and a variety of suitors, I think, will realise that there’s a very strong deal there. So Chelsea are another one to watch.”

We will have to wait till the summer to see if Chelsea would make a move for him.
