Former Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero may soon be on his way to join Southampton as the recent reports have revealed that the EPL club have taken an interest in him.

A report via talkSPORT revealed that Southampton are eyeing a move for the former Chelsea goalkeeper to solve their crisis.

This comes as Southampton’s goalkeepers Alex McCarthy and Fraser Forster have both picked up injuries, leaving the Saints very short when it comes to their goalkeeping options.

Caballero moved away from Chelsea in the summer upon the expiry of his contract and has remained without a club since then.

There are indications that Caballero will take up the Southampton job if offered.

Caballero took the right decision to have left Chelsea last season as he was not getting enough game chances with Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga considered as the Blues number 1 and 2 goalkeepers, respectively.

A move to Southampton will help improve his experience as he will get enough playing chances with the saints.

We will have to wait till the January transfer window to see if Southampton will make a move for him.
