Seria A giant eyeing loan move for Chelsea forward

The arrival of Thomas Tuchel has not changed the future of Oliver Giroud at the club as the Frenchman continue to be linked with a move out of Stamford Bridge.

Oliver Giroud’s future at Chelsea has been under the spotlight ever since the transfer window started as he was unable to cement a place under Frank Lampard after the arrival of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

Though he has been prolific in front of goal anytime he’s given the chance to play, Giroud has been in and out of the team but was among the starters in Thomas Tuchel’s first game in charge.

Giroud was given the nod ahead of Timo Werner and Tammy Abraham but he has now been linked with a move to Seria A side Roma.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma are willing to sign the world cup winner on loan for the remainder of the 2020-21 season.

Giroud is seen as a replacement for Edin Dzeko who has been impressive for the club ever since he joined from Manchester City some seasons ago.

With Oliver Giroud existing deal at Stamford Bridge due to expire this summer, Roma are willing to give him a shot at playing in the Seria A as he wants to secure a place in the French team for their next European competition.

Despite not having enough playing time this season, Giroud has managed three Premier League goals but he has struck five times in four outings in the group stages of the Champions League.
