Rudiger’s contract with Real Madrid revealed

It is no longer news that Germany international Antonio Rudiger would be joining Spanish side Real Madrid from Chelsea this summer, with his current contract with the Blues set to expire at the end of this season.

There have been reports in the past that the Blues defender had reached an agreement with Real Madrid as a free agent in the summer.

He is expected to officially join the LaLiga champions on July 1 on a four-year deal.

Sky Sports reports the deal is understood to be worth €400,000 (£342,000) per week.

While Rudiger’s current contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of the season, the Blues manager Thomas Tuchel confirmed the defender has rejected a new deal at Stamford Bridge.

Top European clubs were interested in the 29-year-old defender including Bayern Munich, but the Los Blancos were the first to formally express an interest.

Rudiger’s agents also held talks with Barcelona earlier this season, while he was also linked with Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.

In another report, he is expected to return to action when Chelsea take on Leeds United this evening.
