There are indications that Chelsea and their key defender and Germany international Antonio Rudiger are yet to reach an agreement concerning his future at the club.

Rudiger, who has played an active part since joining Chelsea, remain relevant even under their current coach Thomas Tuchel and happens to be one of the new manager’s favourites at the club.

However, the German defender would see his current contract lapse at the club at the end of this season.

While Chelsea wants to extend his contract, the offer seems unfavourable to Rudiger, who is aiming for higher pay.

However, according to Bild, Rudiger is no closer to penning a new deal, the player allegedly wanting £60,000 per week more than he is being offered.

The report suggested that the Germany international expects to receive a package worth £10m per year, which works out at approximately £190,000 per week.

It has been claimed that the Blues’ latest attempt was regarded as ‘a slap in the face’ by Rudiger, who would reportedly prefer to stay at the European champions.

With the look of things, Chelsea may have to bid goodbye to Rudiger at the end of the season.
