Former Chelsea coach and Portugal international, Jose Mourinho has jokingly told his fellow countryman and Juventus striker, Cristiano Ronaldo to leave the Italian Seria A.

Recall that Mourinho was recently appointed AS Roma coach following his sack at Tottenham Hotspur last season.

The Portugal international arrives at AS Roma as a replacement for Paulo Fonseca and is likely to come up against Ronaldo in Serie A.

Recall that Mourinho coached Ronaldo at Real Madrid, thus he knows the kind of threat Ronaldo is in the Seria A.

The new AS Roma coach joked that the only way he is assured of peace in the Seria A is if Ronaldo leaves.

“He should leave Italy now and leave me in peace!” Mourinho joked in an interview with talkSPORT.

“Everybody says, and I say the same, he is not 25 any more. He is 36 and he doesn’t score 50 goals, but how many did he score? The record is [still] incredible, the numbers speak by themselves.”

Well, Ronaldo’s future at Turin is not yet certain as the striker has been linked with moves away from the club with his next destination pointed towards Paris Saint Germain PSG and Man Utd.
