Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a return to the Premier League for the third time.

This comes as Newcastle manager Eddie Howe hinted at the possibility of the Magpies using their Saudi Arabia connections to sign players like Ronaldo on loan.

While Newcastle will be competing in the Champions League next season after they finished in fourth place, they have, however, only signed £55m man Sandro Tonali to their squad.

Howe in a statement has now hinted that they could make some deals with Saudi clubs who, like Newcastle, are owned by the Gulf State’s Public Investment Fund (PIF).

When asked whether players like Ronaldo and Ruben Neves could become loan targets for the Magpies, he replied: “That depends on if it is the right thing for Newcastle. We’ll always act with our best interests first.”

It would come as a shock for Ronaldo to return to the EPL for the third time.
