Bruno Guimaraes Ready to Join Arsenal as Newcastle Stand Firm Over Summer Exit

Bruno Guimaraes is reportedly determined to complete a move to Arsenal this summer, although Newcastle United remain adamant that their captain is not for sale.
According to multiple reports, the Brazil international has informed Newcastle of his desire to join Mikel Arteta’s side, with Arsenal now preparing to step up their pursuit. Transfer journalist David Ornstein claims the Gunners are ready to submit an offer worth up to £60 million, although formal club-to-club negotiations have yet to begin.
Despite Arsenal’s growing confidence, Newcastle have maintained a firm stance and continue to insist that one of their most influential players is not available for transfer. The Magpies are expected to reject any bid they believe falls below the midfielder’s true market value.
Further reports suggest Guimaraes has already reached a verbal agreement on personal terms with Arsenal, leaving negotiations between the two clubs as the next major hurdle. Sporting director Andrea Berta is believed to be leading discussions as Arsenal look to strengthen a midfield already featuring Martin Zubimendi and Declan Rice.
The midfielder is also said to want Newcastle to receive a significant transfer fee should a deal eventually be completed, reflecting his respect for the club and supporters after several successful seasons at St James’ Park.
While Newcastle are reportedly surprised by the player’s desire to leave, they remain under no pressure to sell and are expected to resist Arsenal’s initial approach. Nevertheless, with Guimaraes keen on the switch and Arsenal pushing to secure one of their top transfer targets, this is shaping up to be one of the biggest transfer sagas of the summer window.
