The latest reports have revealed that former Barcelona Sporting director Toni Freixa, in a recent statement, has tipped Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo to leave Manchester United to join Spanish club Barcelona.

Freixa is urging the Portugal international to consider a move to Camp Nou despite being a Real Madrid icon and unpopular among Barcelona fans.

Recall that Ronaldo once played for Real Madrid in the Spanish La Liga and was considered arch-rival to Lionel Messi, who was a Barcelona star at that time before he moved to PSG last summer.

Freixa, who was director during Joan Laporta’s first spell as Barcelona president and who competed in the 2021 elections, believes that the club’s current state makes Ronaldo a possibility, however slight.

“If there’s a time for such madness then it’s now,” he told Beleve’s ‘La Porteria’ when asked about the possibility of Ronaldo switching Manchester United for Barcelona.

However, it is doubtful of Ronaldo to consider a move to Spanish La Liga, let alone a move to Barcelona.

If the Red Devils striker is to leave Old Trafford today, then he would consider a move to the American league or Portuguese league.
