Romano provides fresh update on Osimhen’s link to Chelsea

Nigerian star Victor Osimhen has continued to be linked with a move away from Italian Serie A side Napoli with Chelsea named as one of his destination.

However, his expensive release has been a stumbling block in the deal as several clubs have had to back down.

Popular football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in a recent statement gave the latest update on Chelsea’s move for Napoli’s Osimhen.

Romano dismissed the reports that the West London club have left the race to sign the Nigeria international this summer.

Osimhen remains keen to leave Napoli before the summer transfer window deadline, which is only a few weeks away.

So far the former Lille striker has been linked with moves to Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain aside from Chelsea.

However, in a tweet on Tuesday night, Romano said that Chelsea have never left the race for Victor Osimhen, despite reports this month.

He added that the Blues’ nterest has always been and remains there, but Osimhen is still only open to leaving only on permanent transfer and not reducing his salary. There have been No changes so far from the player’s part.

We have to wait to see which of the clubs Osimhen will join before the transfer window closes.
