Returning to familiar ground: Felix close to exiting Chelsea

Chelsea are said to facilitating deal that could see Joao Felix return to familiar ground.

Recall that the Blues paid £45m to Atletico Madrid to sign Felix, however, the recent report revealed they are set to let him leave.

Felix signed a seven-year contract at Chelsea but only lasted half a season before he was sent out on loan to Italian Serie A side AC Milan.

While Milan had plans to sign the Portuguese permanently, he, however, failed to make a positive impact at San Siro, scoring just three goals and creating one assist from 21 appearances.

A report by Fichajes revealed the 25-year-old has been provided with a chance to return to familiar surroundings in a bid to relaunch his career.

Benfica are said to be in talks with Chelsea and are close to finalising an agreement.

Chelsea are said to be considering if they should accept a deal of €25m (£21.66m) and retain 50% of the player’s ownership.

This would ensure that the Blues would not lose out from a Premier League Profit and Sustainability standpoint, nor breach the UEFA’s regulations.

So far, the Blues have sold Kepa Arrizabalaga, Djordje Petrovic, Bashir Humphreys, Mathis Amougou and Noni Madueke this summer.
