Chelsea are back in the transfer market for a defender, and they are reportedly willing to let go of some players in a bid to sort out a deal.

The blues have now been linked with Roma defender Gianluca Mancini who they believe suit Thomas Tuchel’s style of play.

Thomas Tuchel is eager to strengthen his side as the blues are eager to compete in all front next season after a successful first six months under the German tactician.

Mancini has now been identified as a good choice with Roma hoping to raise funds from player sales, and the defender is one name who could be shown the exit door.

According to Il Romanista, Chelsea are interested in signing Mancini, who is 25-year-old and has three years remaining on his current contract.

The report claim Chelsea are willing to include Kurt Zouma in the deadly, with Mancini valued at around £27m.

Chelsea are willing to cut down that price by negotiating a swap deal with another player who is likely to be Zouma.

This might come as a surprise to some Chelsea fans as Zouma played an essential role for the blues last season, playing 36 times across all competitions.
