A report via the Daily Telegraph has claimed that former Man City and Italy national team coach Roberto Mancini has joined the list of coaches that could become Man Utd permanent coach.

Since the sack of Norway international Ole Gunnar Soslkjaer, Man Utd have been on the lookout for a new permanent coach.

However, unlike the other coaches Man Utd have been linked to, there are indications that the Red Devils will not sign Mancini, and the report could be a speculation.

Mancini’s link with Man City, who are considered Man Utd arch-rival, is one of the reasons why the Red Devils will not want to sign him.

Mancini was at Etihad Stadium a decade ago, and it would be a blow on the Red Devils going after their arch-rivals former coach.

Another reason is the disconnection between Mancini’s style of football Mancini compared to that of Ralf Rangnick’s idealogy.

While the German prefers his teams to press high and play attacking football, Mancini is more of a pragmatist; therefore, it would be hard to blend with the two coaches.

Another reason is Mancini, like Jose Mourinho, has a record of having issues with his players, and this happened when he was at Man City. The Red Devils will want to avoid this.
