Spanish club Real Madrid are not determined to bring back their former captain Karim Benzema from Al Ittihad, L’Equipe reports.

Recall that Benzema left Los Blancos last summer to join the Saudi Arabian Pro League.

The latest report revealed Madrid are happy to give EPL clubs Manchester United and Chelsea a free run at the Frenchman.

This is coming after Benzema was reported to be considering his future and could leave the Middle East this January transfer window.

So far the Frenchman has scored 15 goals in 24 appearances for Al Ittihad since his move but has struggled to settle in his new surroundings.

Benzema is said to have clashed with his now-former manager Nuno Espirito Santo, who was sacked in November.

A return to the Bernabeu has also been mooted but the Los Blancos have little intention of re-signing a player who scored 354 goals for them
