RB Leipzig in a statement via the club’s manager Domenico Tedesco has reacted to the many report linking Chelsea striker Timo Werner back to the club.

Tedesco in a statement said that he is not prepared to comment on speculation that Werner could return to the German club this summer’s transfer window.

It is no longer news that Werner’s future at Chelsea is in doubt, as he has been linked with moves to a number of clubs, that are ready to sign him.

Tedesco said that he will ‘not express himself’ when it comes to the German out of “respect” for the player and his club.

“Timo Werner isn’t my player, isn’t our player,” Tedesco told reporters. “He is a player from Chelsea.

“Therefore, I have a clear opinion on this. To not express myself, to not position myself on players, who aren’t part of our club, who aren’t under contract in our club. In my opinion, that’s a matter of respect. That’s an important principle, which I set up for me.”

Werner has struggled to impress at Chelsea since joining them from RB Leipzig in 2020.
