Chelsea have suffered an injury blow ahead of the Uefa Champions League match vs Malmo tonight as the coach Thomas Tuchel recently revealed that Christian Pulisic has suffered a setback in his bid to return from an ankle injury.

The Blues winger, and America international has not made an appearance for the West London side since the commencement of the ongoing campaign.

Pulisic’s most recent injury is a result of a serious challenge while on international duty with the American national team.

While earlier reports had disclosed that the American winger was close to making an appearance for the first team, Tuchel revealed at a press conference on Tuesday that Pulisic would remain unavailable for the foreseeable future.

Tuchel, in a statement with the press, said: “He got injured in the match with the USA with a tough foul, hurt his ankle. There is nothing to worry in that we are hiding details. I cannot give you them because I am not a doctor.

“He has some setbacks, some pain in his ankle that disturbs him. With his quick movements, he feels it and isn’t free in the movement, the recovery is not happening.”

Pulisic is the only Chelsea player that would be absent during their game vs Malmo in the UCL.
