Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly ended their pursuit of Chelsea’s striker Oliver Giroud as they are eager to continue the season with their current team.

Oliver Giroud’s future at Chelsea has been under the spotlight ever since the season began as the arrival of Timo Werner has left him as the third choice in the London club.

However, the world cup winner has been able to claim a place for himself in the Chelsea team by scoring goals whenever he’s given an opportunity in the team.

With Euro 2021 coming up in the next few months, Giroud has been linked with numerous clubs and Wolverhampton Wanderers was listed as the favourite.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have been without their star striker Raul Jimenez for the past few weeks following his skull fracture, and Giroud had been tipped as his replacement.

However, According to The Mirror, despite the fact that Nuno Espirito Santo would love to have Giroud in his team, such move will not happen due to some reasons.

The reports also noted that the club owners are not willing to finance big-money moves in January due to their summer spending and so the manager will have to do with what’s at hand.
