Crystal Palace have named Oliver Glasner as their new manager.

This comes as Roy Hodgson stepped down from the role before Monday night’s Premier League game against Everton.

Hodgson became ill during training last Thursday and∂ underwent tests in hospital.

However, Crystal Palace in a statement confirmed the 76-year-old was now out of the hospital and “doing well.”

In a club statement announcing his departure, Hodgson said: “I understand, given recent circumstances, it may be prudent at this time for the club to plan ahead, and therefore I have taken the decision to step aside so that the club can bring forward their plans for a new manager, as intended for this summer.”

Palace confirmed Glasner’s appointment shortly after on a deal until the end of the 2025–2026 season.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace were held to a 1-1 draw against Everton on Monday night.
