Potter speaks on Chelsea new signing

Chelsea manager Graham Potter has said the club would give their newest signing, David Datro Fofana time to adapt.

Recall that the Blues in December confirmed they had reached a pre-agreement with Molde FK for Fofana’s permanent transfer and that the youngster would join the Blues in January.

He was, however, in the stands during Chelsea’s New Year’s Day 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest.

Potter in a pre-match statement ahead of their game with Manchester City on Thursday night, said the 20-year-old is already at Stamford Bridge but needs to complete his clearances for him to play for the club.

“He’s here at the moment, but we still need to wait for the clearances and all those formalities,” Potter said.

“He’s been on a bit of a break, so we will give him some time to train and assess him, then find out the best solution in terms of how to take the next step of his career.”

“He’s an exciting player, so we are open-minded about it.”
