Chelsea recently appointed a new technical director in the person of Laurence Steward and he is expected to help improve on the club’s football globally.

Like other Chelsea hierarchy, the club’s manager Graham Potter has welcomed the addition of Laurence, who joins the Blues from the French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco.

Speaking ahead of the match vs Brighton scheduled to take place this weekend, Potter said he is looking forward to working with the new technical director.

‘It’s positive and good news,’ he added.

‘Obviously I’ve been focusing on the eight games in October and the club are responsible for the appointment but I’m looking forward to working with him and supporting the role.’

In another report, Chelsea will this weekend play against Potter’s former club Brighton and hope to win all three points against the club
