Chelsea manager, Graham Potter, has named midfielder Conor Gallagher as the player who is ‘unlucky’ in his squad.

According to Potter, Gallagher would be rightly frustrated over his lack of game time for Chelsea.

The manager made this known in a post-match statement after Chelsea’s Premier League 2-2 draw with Everton on Saturday.

Gallagher, who featured for the Blues from the bench against Everton, has not started in Chelsea’s last eight games and his last six appearances have all been as a second-half substitute.

“If he doesn’t start then there’s the chance he can be the first change,” Potter said at his post-match press conference.

“We used Kova and Enzo in midfield, that’s a tactical decision, and the front three at Kai, Joao and Pulisic, they are more dribblers.

“Conor has been unlucky because whenever he comes on, he’s done really well.

“He will be frustrated and rightly so but we think the world of him. He is a fantastic team player.”
