Potter confirms Chelsea’s new penalty taker

Chelsea manager Graham Potter would be looking forward to emerging the winner when they host Borussia Dortmund at Stamford Bridge tonight as they hope to get a spot in the last eight of Europe’s premier club competition.

Since away goals no longer count in the Champions League, any one-goal margin of victory for the Blues would mean extra time and, if no goals are scored, it would lead to penalty shoot outs.

Following Jorginho’s departure to Arsenal in January, Potter has confirmed Kai Havertz as the Blues’ new first-choice spot-kick taker.

‘The boys are always practising penalties,’ explained Potter.

‘We are prepared for that eventuality. We want to get it done before that but if not then okay, we can go through that way.

‘Kai is our designated penalty taker now,’ the head coach revealed.

The Blues head into the game after their 1-0 win over Leeds United in the English Premier League last weekend.
